A postdoctoral fellowship is available to investigate the cooperation of IGF-I and adhesion signalling in cancer progression. The major areas of interest in the Cell Biology Lab are regulation of IGF-I Receptor signalling pathway by adapter proteins and phosphatases, and the characterization of new IGF-I-regulated proteins using cell and murine models.
This project will focus on the newly described PDLIM2 protein which acts at the cytoskeleton to regulate cell migration and in the nucleus to regulate transcription factor activity. The research group is located in the BioScience Institute at UCC and has much international collaboration.
